The North Carolina Military Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to serve as a catalyst in growing the state's defense and security industry. In addition to its major military installations, North Carolina’s core strengths in manufacturing, technology, research and development, and a highly competitive business environment make it an ideal location to grow or relocate business that serves our nation’s defense and security.

The Foundation identifies emerging defense and security procurement trends, and works with the state’s leaders in government, military, business, and academic communities to capitalize on them. The leadership of the Foundation is comprised of distinguished retired military leaders with strong North Carolina ties and executives from North Carolina’s leading corporations intent on growing a vibrant defense sector.

Foundation Identifies Highly-Skilled & Reliable Workforce

Transitioning Military Personnel Seen as Highly Desirable

Thousands of active duty military personnel transition into the civilian sector each year from installations in North Carolina.  These skilled men and women represent a diverse workforce of talented, educated and disciplined employees for current and prospective North Carolina businesses.

Until now, information on these skill sets has not been presented in a fashion that is easy for civilians to understand.  The Foundation and the NC Military Business center partnered on a project to make this information easier to access through a searchable database of historical data.  These data are an indicator of the wide range of skill sets represented on NC-based installations.  Read more here.
